Located along the North Shore of Long Island, Soundview represents a holistic approach to modern living where architecture, interiors, and furnishings are conceived as a singular experience. As BMA Architects’ first fully integrated interior design and FF&E project, the residence reflects an evolution of the studio’s design philosophy; extending beyond architecture to shape every layer of how the home is lived in and experienced.
The residence is carefully composed to embrace its surrounding waterfront landscape through expansive glazing, layered outdoor spaces, and a restrained architectural language that prioritizes light, atmosphere, and connection to nature. Interior spaces unfold with a sense of calm continuity, balancing openness and intimacy while framing views toward the Sound and surrounding landscape.
A warm and highly curated material palette establishes the tone of the interiors. Natural stone, richly textured woods, soft textiles, and sculptural furnishings were selected to create an environment that feels refined yet deeply comfortable. Each piece of furniture, lighting, and accessory was considered as part of the broader architectural composition, reinforcing a cohesive dialogue between space, materiality, and lifestyle.
