Miami Beach
This Miami Beach residence is a comprehensive transformation of an existing waterfront estate, reimagined through a collaborative vision that merges architecture, interiors, and landscape into a singular living experience. Working alongside Kelly Behun and Raymond Jungles, BMA Architects led the architectural reorganization of the home; refining its spatial clarity, strengthening its relationship to the site, and reshaping the overall experience of arrival, movement, and light throughout the residence.
Set along Biscayne Bay with expansive views toward downtown Miami, the project embraces a softer and more fluid architectural language that contrasts the rigid angularity often associated with contemporary waterfront homes. Thoughtful bronze detailing, warm natural materials, and carefully integrated landscape interventions establish a sense of calm warmth and livability throughout the property.
At the center of the transformation is a sculptural organic staircase that activates the double-height entry foyer and creates a dramatic vertical connection between public and private spaces. A second-floor atrium garden introduces landscape deep into the interior experience, allowing light, vegetation, and reflection to become integral architectural elements within the home. The primary entry sequence was entirely re-envisioned through a monumental double-height wall opening that frames views through the residence toward the water beyond.
New custom windows and doors maximize transparency and strengthen the home’s connection to its exceptional waterfront setting. Expansive glazing dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior environments, allowing gardens, terraces, and Biscayne Bay itself to shape the atmosphere of the residence throughout the day. Landscape and architecture operate in continuous dialogue, with lush tropical plantings carefully woven into the experience of the home.
Throughout the project, architecture and interiors were approached holistically; balancing sculptural moments with intimacy, material richness with restraint, and openness with comfort. The result is a contemporary Miami Beach retreat that feels immersive, personal, and timeless: a residence defined not simply by luxury, but by atmosphere, experience, and the seamless integration of architecture, landscape, and interior design
