BMAMEYERS POND

MEYERS POND
Water Mill, NY
Set along the edge of Meyers Pond, the residence is conceived as a quiet dialogue between architecture, water, and landscape. The design responds to the site’s unique natural setting through a restrained contemporary language that emphasizes horizontality, transparency, and a deep connection to the surrounding environment.

Rather than imposing upon the landscape, the home is carefully integrated into it, positioned to frame long views across the pond while preserving a sense of privacy and retreat. Expansive glazing and layered outdoor spaces dissolve the threshold between interior and exterior living, allowing shifting light, reflections, and seasonal changes to become part of the daily experience of the home.

The architecture is organized as a series of interconnected volumes that balance openness with intimacy. Public living spaces unfold toward the water, creating a seamless relationship between gathering areas, terraces, and the landscape beyond, while private spaces remain calm and sheltered within the composition.

A restrained material palette of natural stone, wood, and glass reinforces the project’s quiet sophistication. Textural warmth and precise detailing soften the clean modern forms, allowing the residence to feel both contemporary and deeply connected to its setting. Throughout the home, light and materiality were approached as essential architectural elements, shaping atmosphere as much as space itself.

Meyers Pond reflects a vision of modern coastal living rooted in clarity, proportion, and permanence; a residence where architecture becomes an extension of the surrounding landscape and the experience of living is inseparable from nature.
