Our History

Barras Mueschke Architects is a partnership of professional architectural corporations, Barras Architects, Inc. and HJM Architects, Inc., owned by Robert E. Barras and H. Jay Mueschke, respectively. Bob and Jay have known one another for over forty years and practiced together much of that time. Their respective firms joined as partners in 1999. The partnership brought together over 70 years of combined experience in architectural design projects from large city planning design and high rise buildings to the individual dwelling. Project types for which the firm has extensive experience include healthcare, recreational, educational, governmental, commercial, airport, industrial, and residential. The acquisition and merging of the firm of Hamilton & Associates in 2004 added federal housing and national park experience to the firms areas of practice.
